Mike grew up surrounded with music and art. By the age of five, he was singing. "It's just a thing that's in me." He says. "My earliest memories as a child are singing along with my parents records. I've always loved to chase the notes." Comfortable in many genres, Mike is a seasoned performer. He has developed a unique style that is all his own. Lava Bomb gives him the perfect platform to showcase his versatility as both a songwriter and a vocalist. A child of the 60s & 70s, Mike has a wide range of musical and lyrical influences. These influences range from the great singers like Bobby Darin, Doris Day, Judy Garland and Frankie Lane to the rockers like Mick Jaggar, & Steven Tyler, Tom Petty and many, many more. Mike has performed with many North and East Texas bands including Blue Jones, "3 or for...", The HypnoTunes, and Random Splatter. He also has a deep love for the Blues. Any Blues artist. Any time. Any day.

If you're curious as to why Lava Bomb is so tight musically, you need look no further than William Boyette. As bandmates in The HypnoTunes, Mike and William began collaborating in the summer of 2013 and have never really stopped. William's past projects include SkilletHead, The HypnoTunes and Bad Reputation. Influenced by bassists such as Nikki Sixx, Les Claypool and Victor Wooten, William is as solid as they come. Will is also an avid collector of comics and memorabilia. It's super cool.
Lorne is the newest member of Mike Freiley & Lava Bomb. He began performing with the group back in March of 2022. He brings a solid backbeat to the unique rock & blues style of Lava Bomb's brand of music. His playing philosophy is to never get in the way of the band's music and melody, but to support it with steady percussion highlights and rhythmic fills. Lorne cites his musical influences with roots in the classic hard rock era of the 70's & 80's including such bands like Led Zeppelin, Boston, KISS, Cheap Trick, Van Halen, Queensrÿche, Petra, Stryper, Iron Maiden, Rush, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Journey, Dream Theater, U2 and many others. He cites the drumming styles of John Bonham, Peter Criss, Neil Peart, Scott Rockenfield and Mike Portnoy as major influences and he is a big fan of Latin Percussion as well.
